Greetings from Ethiopia. We followed the Nile river valley down through Sudan this afternoon and I got to see the desert melt into civilizations. It was like the mud came out of the ground slowly to form huts, then houses, and ultimately buildings and bridges. My seat mate from Frankfurt, Germany just 'happened' to be a long term missionary. You can pray for him and his colleagues as they minister in Sudan this week. They hope to influence the territory for peace and are willing to go into some pretty rough places. The airport in Khartoum was lined with UN aircraft as if they were ready for a mass exodus in the event of some episode on a large scale. My new friend assured me having been in Uganda often that Jinja and Entebbe were paradise compared with the starkness of Sudan. Brothers and Sisters, our church is so large and Jesus has his servants in so many corners of this world taking the good news of the gospel to the very ends of the earth. Let us praise God for their willingness to go to unfriendly places where their lives are certainly in jeopardy.

I praise God for the peace here in Addis Ababa. What a blessing to arrive at a modern airport with so many helpful souls. My luggage made it this far and is now checked on through to Entebbe, Uganda. Please continue to pray for safe passage.

May the Lord be glorified in all the earth. His name known among the nations. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Blessings to all of you from Ethiopia,

Steadman
